Strong keiki's

My neighbor has a set of two year old twins (boy and girl).  We were at boiling pots together, and all three keiki started pushing their jogging stroller up the hill.  It was sooo adorable, and funny!

Aliyahs House

Mom made Aliyah a house out of a couple HUGE card board boxes, you know, the large packing boxes.  Mom cut out a door and window, then put a white fuzzy rug for the ground.  Aliyah just loves playing in it.  Kaya even goes inside sometimes too!  Aliyah loves to invite mommy and Raul into her house too.  Here we all are...  hehehe...

In the pic, Aliyah doesnt look too happy, but she really is, lol.  She just doesnt smile for pictures often

Chocks (The Beach)

Today we went to Chocks.  We had a lot of fun looking in the tide pools for fish, crabs, and snails.  We found a few crabs that took over the snail shells.  No matter what beach we go to, we always have fun.

Little crab that took over a snail shell.

Liliokalani Park

Today we went to Liliokalani Park.  We walked around the park, up and down the bridges, then played with bubbles.  I think Raul and I had more fun than Aliyah with the bubbles, lol.  (I dont have a pic of the bubbles).

Aliyah's Hair

My girlfriend, Ingrid, came over to help me and to teach me a few different ways to style Aliyah's hair.  Ingrid is a pro at styling and braiding hair.  Aliyah did very well standing while we did her hair... ok, ok, we put an Elmo DVD on!!  Lol.

First time Aliyah getting her hair styled.

The finished product.  Love it!!

First time I did aliyahs hair on my own.  Not too bad :)

Ingrid came over again to show me how to braid Aliyahs hair.
Impressive huh??

Thank you Ingrid!! We love you :)

My first attempt at braiding Aliyah's hair.

Volcano

We went to the Volcano today.  We had so much fun!  Here's some pictures...
On our way to the Lava Tube

About to enter the Lava Tube

Can you see the crater and steam vent to the left?

Look at these two happy guys :)
I'm a lucky lady!!

Awesome steam vent

My family :)

Pele's Hair - thin, fragile strands of volcanic glass.
They form when molten lava is ejected into the air during an eruption.

Pele's Tears - solidified droplets of lava that form during an eruption.
Tears can sometimes be found attached to the end of a strand of Pele's hair.

Pic of Pahoehoe and A'a Lava.  The pahoehoe (smooth) lava forms when the viscosity
of the lava has low gas bubbles and is at a high temperature, and when the eruption rate, steepness of ground are low.  Just the opposite conditions form a'a (fragmented and rouh lava).

Aliyahs Tutu

Raul and I bought Aliyah this hot pick tutu.  Well, actually, I was the one who was going banana's over it, and Raul said "ok".  Hahaha.  So we got it.  It's a little big, but I couldnt resist putting it on Aliyah.  She had a lot of fun wearing it.

Aliyah with Garfield

We went to the mall so Raul could get a hair cut.  Shame on me, I dont have a pic of his haircut.  But I love his haircut!  Anyways, while we were waiting, Aliyah was playing on the toy cars.  I couldnt resist posting this darling pic of her with Garfield.  She is so angelic.

Sight Seeing

Raul, Aliyah and I went to Rainbow Falls and Akaka Falls today.  It was a rainy day... lucky thing we had an umbrella.  At Akaka Fall, we were offered money for our umbrella, haha!

Rainbow Falls

At Akaka Falls, we got a coconut for Aliyah.
Here's her first taste of coconut water.  She liked it!

After we drank the coconut water, the coconut was opened and
we got to eat the fresh coconut, yum!!  (Aliyah didn't like this part)

Akaka Falls

Good looking family here :)

Raul Picking Lychee

We went to a friends house to pick lychee today.  Raul stayed in the tree, used the lychee picker and climbed all over the tree picking lychee.  Aliyah and I stayed on the ground and put the lychee in our bucket.  We all got very muddy because it was raining most of the morning.

First time painting

I got Aliyah a brand new paint set.  This was her first time painting with a paint brush (she's painted with her fingers before).  Aliyah did amazing with dipping the brush in the paint and applying it to paper.  She made 4 pictures today.

Kaya's Nest

When Kaya is home alone, she likes to sleep on my bed.  She builds herself a little "nest" out of my comforter, sheets and pillows.  She uses her front paws to get the blankets just right.

Aliyah sleeping in Raul's arms

This was the first time Raul put a baby to bed in his life, and he put Aliyah to bed.  She fell asleep right in his arms.  This was one of the sweetest moments I've ever been apart of.  Raul said this was one of the best feelings hes ever felt :)  This moment just pulled on our heart strings.

Beautiful.  So peaceful.

I love this picture.

The Tower

We were playing with large foam blocks, building towers for Aliyah to knock down.  Aliyah loves to knock down towers that we build weather it be towers of blocks, sand castles, stacks of books or blakets, you name it, Aliyah likes to make it crash!  It was a challenge to build this tower below, Raul built it while I kept Aliyah occupied until it was complete.

The Masters work in progress.  Raul checking the lines, making sure the tower is steady.

Victory!  Our complete tower!  Just to let you know, Raul is 5'10", so that
gives you an idea of how tall this tower is!

Story Time with Grammy

When I'm working at night, mom takes care of Aliyah.  Aliyah loves her grammy soooo much.  Before bed, we always read stories to Aliyah.  Here is mom reading a story to Aliyah.  Precious.

Saint Joseph Park

Today we went to Saint Joseph's Park.  It's a darling area, with nice big trees that give us shade.  One thing they dont have is swings, which is Aliyah's favorite.  But, of course, we still had lots of fun.  Aliyah practiced climbing almost the entire time :)

Aliyah climbing on this spiral latter.

Aliyah climbed up this latter all by herself!!!

Stopped for a snuggle and a snack with Raul.
